That took some time

Dear friends,

The Westfalia micro business really eats the few hobby-hours I have away and barely leaves me time to do what I enjoy most - Painting, modelling and generally adding stuff to my collection.

Yet I've finally found some time to do exactly that, and I am happy to present you with a little Vignette and few other things of interest.

First a Vignette that I initially started for the Salamanca competition over at La Bricole. Obviously Im like 2 months late, but it's better to be last than just chickening out!

The piece shows french amoured engineers at work in the trenches of Cadiz.
Still sloppy in some places, and the fotos are far from perfect but this is as far as I can go without adding another couple of weeks time:

Next item is a pair of Highlanders painted by the very talented Adey Burt.
I've been told that he's offering painting-services. He can be contacted
at adeyburt (at) gmail (dot) com

Lastly a piece for the napoleonic connoisseur.

The German "Figuren Symposium" is an annual meet-up of more seasoned and mostly German Hobbyists. Last year they did run a comparison between the commercially available french ammo-carts in 28mm. Soon it became clear that none of them was too close to the available primary sources. Niels and Michael, the A-Team of napoleonic vehicle-making, started research into that particular field lately. And now I'm more than happy to present you with Westfalias next "bigger" project.

French ammunition cart 1792 - 1815

Lastly: Getting the ambulance done really takes much longer
than I expected, so I was a bit ashamed of posting something
else that has wheels rather than legs.

The ambulance will be available from Calpe eventually, but
I don't dare giving a release-date anymore.
The few of you that placed a pre-order and wanted to pay for it
will be remunerated, or receive a master.

Have a nice day!

Westfalias next project!

Dear friends,

Westfalias next project is on the way. I'd like to make a little nap-quiz rather than properly announcing it. The first reader who comes up with the right answer will receive a small
unit of these gents.

Hints:
- German Foresters in British service
- Were present at Waterloo
- are said to have obtained 2 awi-2 pounders of unkown make

And here is a picture I drew for the sculptor"

Whoever can guess the unit from my rough drawing will receive a full unit of these once the become available.

Feel free to drop me a mail to info@westfaliaminiatures.com in case you don't wish to disclose your identity in the public of this blog.

Best!

Westfalia - order status

Sorry for abusing this Hobby-Blog to announce Westfalia - news.

All the parcels with Prussian medics and Highlanders got sorted and will
be posted today. We try and send a confirmation-mail on top off that.

Tomorrow we start packing all the parcels that include the Genie,
please allow for some delay as it really is serious work and we want
to do things right.

Also - I'm still painting!
Will try and post my latest battalion once the basing is done. =)

Best,
Kawe

Westfalia and the internet

http://westfaliaminiatures.com/ works just as well as http://westfalia-miniatures.com/

I was spending the weekend in front of my machine rather than painting des petit amis, and out came a new website that hopefully helps to get your hands on the COUNTLESS products I have to offer.

I'll also add all my OdB's, selfmade flags and templates over the next few days. Hope some of you might find it useful.

You're also more than welcome to join Westfalia on FaceBook and Twitter as I really aim to keep Grossbeeren 1813 a pure Hobby-blog.

Thank you and have a lazy sunday afternoon!
Kawe

25.000 hits and I say Danke!

My followers, Meine Kinder!

This humble blog has gathered the (to me) incredible amount of 25k hits.
I very much appreciate the cheerful crowd that keeps the blog-sphere going, and I'd like to say thank you for the strong support this typo-infested piece of internet (that is Grossbeeren 1813) has seen so far.

The first 3 readers that answer to this post will receive a little celebration-gift from the elusive Schrumpfkopf-collection. Well - unless they say something really mean or deny the awesomeness of cake.

Thank you,
Kawe

Rude Highlanders - Update 2 - extended issue confirmed

Update 2: Several gents were interested in more than just a few of these, so a slightly extended release will make sense. I can't accept further pre-orders until release tho, but stay tuned!

--

Sorry for being so quiet lately, but again real life took it's toll and I hardly got around to paint anything. But then again - other people do work on hobby related things. In this case as sculpting-contractors for the worlds most indecent line of miniatures.

Westfalias latest outing is a pair of northern Gents with questionable manners. As always sculpted by the incredible Herr Hicks. I initially intended to use them for my private collection, but certain friends were forcing me to make them available to a wider public.

I also received news about the cart today. I guess I need to apologize about the delay, but it seems like this baby is finally finding it's way into the moulds, and I'm very much looking forward to make it available to those who showed interest.

Update - Cart and Hanseatic Legion can be pre-ordered. Drop me a mail to kaweDOTweissiMINUSzadehAThotmailDOTcom if you're interested.

Regards,
Kawe
