Selfmade flags

My painting friday was spend in front of the computer. But not as usual to work work work, but to make a unique set of flags for my Landwehr and Reserves.

First of all - yes, I went overboard, but the flags carried by the Landwehr remain an obscure subject. Enough lack of evidence for me to start adding funny stuff.

The 2 white flags are rather serious while the 2 black ones are a mere product of my fantasy. I took a Hussar-skull and a Humpen Bier and think that fits nicely with the spirit of the Landwehr in 1813.

Mit freundlichen Gruessen!

  1. They're brilliant! You're very talented. I love the bierstien flag; shows you exactly where that regiment's talents lie ;-)

  2. Ausgezeichnet!

I love all these flags. I probably wouldn't use them with my Prussians, but definitely gives me ideas for my Warhammer Empire army. :-)

  3. Excellent work - on what will you print them? Textile?

  4. Top quality work there Sir! Beer stein is my favourite too; very apt for a Friday!

  5. Wow, these are looking very good. Pleasure to find your blog.

  6. Thank you very much for the kind words Genlemen.

I intend to print them on a paper of good quality as this works well for me. I don't have experience with printing on fabric but would like to look into that if you have a link.

Also I'd certainly hesitate to approach more complex flags that demand historical accuracy.

Again - thank you for the encouragement!

  7. They are great. The two black ones will find spots with my Landwehr

  8. Mike - I'm really glad you like them, feel free to drop me a mail if you need really high quality samples.

  9. I am going to try what is here on the blog first. For 15mm, I believe the quality will be fine. Thanks for the offer.

  14. I hope that you don't mind, but I would expect to use these for my Flintloque Dwarves - Napoleonic Fantasy. I think the designs are ideal for this.

    1. Tony, I do use them with the only Flintloque-battalion I have, so please feel free to do the same!
