tommy-blue

I was running a colour-test for the reserve in english-made uniforms.
I know - untraceable sources claim that their webbing was black, but can
anyone out there give me a good reason why?

Anyway - I think the blue came out perfect, while the green might be a bit
to saturated.

  1. I think they look great, but no expert on this uniform.

  2. Nice work, Schrumpfkopf. I like the shading effect you've achieved with 2-tone highlighting; very nice.

I'm no expert on Prussian uniforms either, but I'd use a less vivid shade of green. As I said, I'm no expert, though! :-)

  3. Thank you guys!

I think the green will do it for me as it's readable even from about 1 meter of distance.

For rank and file I must stay with only 2 colors. Otherwise I'll never finish the mob until 2013...

  4. They look wonderful. As far as the green goes, yes, maybe a bit bright at this range but look at them from the other side of your games table. Generally you need brighter colours. I would leave them the way they are.

  6. Those are good looking figures. As far as the webbing, either black or white will be accurate for Reserve regiments. Probably mixed in the same battalions in some cases. Paint them to suit yourself.

  7. Thank you Mike - I was tempted to just stick with R. Matles pamphlet regarding the Reserve. But I really think this is leading nowhere. So indeed webbing will be made to suit my taste and battlefied readability most of all.
